E.R. Yatscoff is a published author who has led an adventurous life. Before turning to writing, Yatscoff worked as a firefighter for 32 years, rising to the rank of station captain. In addition to his career in firefighting, Yatscoff has traveled extensively, visiting over two dozen countries and even becoming marooned in Australia for over a year. He has had a wide range of experiences, from climbing the Great Wall of China to witnessing the 1979 Grenada Revolution.
Yatscoff's writing has received numerous awards and accolades. He has won the John Bilsland Non-fiction short story award, the Canada Book Award, and several travel and short story awards. He was also a finalist for an Arthur Ellis Award in the Crime Writers of Canada competition. His firefighter novels are the first of their kind in Canada, and his juvenile and YA novels are available in paperback and eBook format on all sites.
Born in Welland, Ontario, Yatscoff has worked a variety of jobs, including paperboy, grocery clerk, sales rep, iron worker, mink ranch hand, assembly line worker, freelance astronaut, delivery driver, and firefighter and officer. He has had many unique experiences, such as almost smuggling a Playboy into Communist Russia, tossing eggs at an Australian PM, and catching a knuckle-baller as a fastball catcher. Yatscoff now lives in Beaumont, AB with his wife, Gloria, where he enjoys writing, traveling, fishing, wine-making, boating, and reading.
