Earlene Fowler is an American novelist, best known for her mystery novels, particularly the Benni Harper series. She was born in La Puente, California, and spent her growing years there, influenced by her Western father and Southern mother. This upbringing is reflected in her novels, which often feature elements of cattle, cowboys, quilts, smart-mouthed women, and a sensual Latino cop.
Fowler began her writing career in her late twenties and published her first novel, Fool's Puzzle, in her late thirties. Fowler is married to Allen, her high school sweetheart, and they share their home in Southern California with a rescue terrier mix named Ivy.
