Edwin Hill is a respected American author, best known for his Hester Thursby Mystery series. His first book, "Little Comfort," introduced the series and was well received by critics. In addition to this series, Hill has written several standalone thrillers, including "Who to Believe" and "The Secrets We Share." His novels have been nominated for Edgar and Agatha Awards and have received starred reviews in Publishers Weekly, Booklist, and Library Journal. Hill has been recognized as one of "Six Crime Writers to Watch" in Mystery Scene magazine.
Growing up in Duxbury, Massachusetts, Hill spent much of his childhood immersed in mystery novels, particularly those of Agatha Christie and The Famous Five. His parents instilled a love of travel in him, taking him and his sister on month-long family camping trips across the United States and Canada. One of his fondest memories is finishing a copy of "The Seven Dials Mystery" while the rest of his family visited Mount Rushmore. These early experiences shaped his love for storytelling and adventure.
After attending Wesleyan University and earning a B.A. in American Studies, Hill moved to San Francisco during the original dotcom boom. He later returned to Boston, where he earned an MFA from Emerson College and worked in educational publishing for many years. It was only after this extensive experience in the publishing industry that Hill turned to writing full time. He now lives in Roslindale, Massachusetts, with his partner Michael and their beloved lab, Edith Ann, who serves as Hill's faithful reviewer.
