Emily Franklin is an American author, well-known for her young adult romance novels. She has had her writing featured in various publications such as The Boston Globe, the Mississippi Review, and numerous anthologies. Franklin is not only a writer but also a traveler, teacher, and panel participant. She currently resides outside of Boston with her husband and their four children.
Beyond her writing, Franklin has had an eclectic mix of experiences that have shaped her career. As a young girl, she aspired to be a singing, tap-dancing doctor who writes books. Although she realized she had little talent for dance, she pursued her other interests with fervor. She attended Oxford University and Sarah Lawrence College, where she concentrated in writing and neuroscience. Although she considered a career in medicine, she eventually followed her dreams of becoming a writer. After extensive travel, working as a chef, and editing medical texts, she settled down and earned her Master’s Degree in writing and media studies from Dartmouth. It was there where she met her future husband, who is a doctor and pianist. Today, they live outside of Boston with their four children.
