Emma Christie is a successful literary fiction author from the UK, best known for her bestselling work "The Silent Daughter." Before becoming an author, Christie spent over half a decade working for the Journal and Press in Aberdeen and Elgin. She gained a wide range of experience during her time in the press, working on various stories from politics, crime, and court. Some of the most notable highlights of her journalism career include living in an Aberdeen prison, interviewing Donald Trump during his north-east coast golf development controversy, and spending a weekend in the Aberdeen city center inside a police van.
Christie grew up in a book-filled house in Cumnock, an Ayrshire coal-mining town. After abandoning her law degree, she pursued her passion for literature and history by studying English literature and medieval history at Aberdeen University. Throughout her journalism career, Christie secretly aspired to be every author she ever interviewed. Currently, when she's not writing, Christie works as a tour director and lecturer in history, culture, and politics with a US travel company, leading educational journeys across Spain, France, and Portugal. She can often be found in Portobello, Edinburgh's captivating seaside community, but resides in Barcelona with her girlfriend, María Jose, and an overabundance of plants. "The Silent Daughter" is her first novel.
