Erin French is a highly acclaimed chef and the owner of The Lost Kitchen, a 40-seat restaurant located in Freedom, Maine. Her restaurant has gained national recognition, being named one of TIME Magazine’s World’s Greatest Places and one of “12 Restaurants Worth Traveling Across the World to Experience” by Bloomberg. French, a native of Maine, grew up learning the simple pleasures of thoughtful food and the importance of gathering for a meal.
French’s love for sharing Maine’s delicious heritage with curious dinner guests and new friends has earned her significant attention from various media outlets. She has been featured in The New York Times, Martha Stewart Living, Wall Street Journal, Boston Globe, and Food & Wine. French has also shared her story on NPR’s All Things Considered, The Chew, CBS This Morning, and The Today Show. In addition, she was featured in a short film made by Tastemade in partnership with L. L. Bean, which won a James Beard Award.
In addition to her success as a chef and restaurant owner, French is also a published author. Her memoir, “Finding Freedom: A Cook’s Story; Remaking a Life from Scratch,” was published in 2021. The Lost Kitchen Cookbook has also received critical acclaim, being named one of the best cookbooks by The Washington Post, Vogue.com, and Remodelista, and was nominated for a James Beard Foundation Award.
