M.R. Hall

M.R. Hall, also known as Matthew Hall, is a British author and screenwriter who has made a significant impact in both fields. He was born in London in 1967 and attended Hereford Cathedral School before graduating from Worcester College, Oxford with a law degree. After practicing law for several years, Hall switched to a writing career in 1995, starting with screenwriting for television shows.

Hall has received numerous awards for his work in television, including a BAFTA, and has written for popular shows such as Kavanagh QC, Dalziel and Pascoe, Foyle's War, and Blue Murder. He has also created shows such as Wing and a Prayer and New Street Law. His writing is known for its thrilling and suspenseful elements, making him a highly regarded novelist in the genre.

In addition to his screenwriting career, Hall is also the author of the Coroner Jenny Cooper series, which includes the novels The Coroner, The Disappeared, The Redeemed, and The Flight, among others. The series has been adapted for television and airs on CBC in Canada and on The CW in the United States. Hall's writing has reached a wide audience through both television and publishing, and he continues to be a prolific and successful writer in both fields.
