Maddie Please was born in the picturesque county of Dorset, England. She spent her childhood in Worcestershire and later attended university in Cardiff. After completing her education, she pursued a career as a dentist before settling in Devon with her husband. They are proud parents to four adult children who have all left home.
In her spare time, Maddie is an avid reader and enjoys various household activities, although her writing schedule often leaves little time for such pursuits. She is known for her discipline and dedication to writing, often choosing to write every day over doing household chores. Maddie's writing is inspired by the sometimes confusing experiences of today's women and men, and she has a particular interest in writing uplifting romantic comedies that reflect these challenges.
Maddie's debut novel, "The Summer of Second Chances," was published in July 2017 and quickly became an Amazon bestseller in the UK and Australia. She has since published several more novels, including "A Year of New Adventures," "Come Away With Me," and "The Mini-Break." Her writing is represented by the DHH Literary Agency, and she is mentored by agent Broo Doherty.
In addition to her successful writing career, Maddie enjoys watching American box-sets, thinking about holidays, and drinking wine. She has a particular fondness for the Bourne Trilogy, anything to do with Christmas, America, cruises, and writing. Her latest novel, "The Old Ducks Hen Do," is the sequel to the bestselling "The Old Ducks Club" and follows the journey of sixty-year-old Denny as she navigates retirement and a new chapter in her life.
