Madeleine E. Robins

Madeleine E. Robins is an American published author who has been based in San Francisco for many years. She was born in New York City and has held a variety of jobs including nanny, teacher, actor, administrator, comic book editor, baker, typist-clerk, repairer-of-hurt-books, editorial consultant, and writer. Robins has a degree in Theatre Studies from Connecticut College and attended the Clarion Science Fiction Workshop in 1981.

Robins has many ruling passions, which are often reflected in her writing. These passions include cities, history, swordplay, the history of disease, and the future of mankind. She also has a keen interest in historical costuming and infrastructure, particularly urban plumbing. These diverse interests provide Robins with a wealth of material to draw upon in her writing, allowing her to create vivid and engaging worlds for her readers.

Robins is a founding member of Book View Cafe, an author-owned e-publishing cooperative. Many of her short stories are available for free on the Book View Cafe website. Through her writing, Robins is able to explore her many passions and share them with her readers, providing them with a unique and captivating reading experience.
