Maggie Sefton is a well-known American author, renowned for her suspense and cozy mystery novels. She has written several series, including the Molly Malone Suspense Mysteries and the popular Knitting Mysteries. In addition to these, Sefton has penned a few standalone novels, all of which fall under the same genre.
Born in Richmond, Virginia, Sefton was raised in Northern Virginia, in Arlington, near Washington, D.C. After completing her bachelor's degree in English Literature and Journalism from George Washington University in Washington, D.C., she went on to work various jobs in the city. She also has experience as a CPA and a real estate agent. Before writing mysteries, Sefton wrote historical fiction under the pen name Margaret Conlan.
Sefton's writing career under her original name began in 2005 with the first novel of the Knitting Mystery series. The success of this series gave her the motivation and boost to begin writing her famous mystery and suspense series, the Molly Malone Suspense Mysteries. She now resides in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado with two demanding dogs.
In addition to her mystery and suspense novels, Sefton has also written historical fiction under the pen name Margaret Conlan. She was first published in historical fiction in 1995 with Abilene Gamble. She has written over a million words of historical romance fiction before she ever wrote the first mystery. Dying to Sell, with real estate agent sleuth Kate Doyle, was published by Five Star/Tekno Mysteries in 2005. Sefton has been a CPA and a real estate agent in the Rocky Mountain West, but she finds nothing can match creating worlds on paper. Her Knitting Mysteries series has been successful, with Unraveled, the 9th book in the series, making the New York Times Bestselling Hardcover Fiction List after its release in June 2011. All of the mysteries in the series have also been Barnes & Noble Top Ten Bestselling Mysteries.
