Mainak Dhar is an accomplished author who balances his time between his day job as a CEO and his family. He was born in India and attended Modern School, Barakhamba Road and Hindu College, Delhi for his schooling and under-graduation, respectively. Dhar then went on to graduate from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. He has spent over two decades in the corporate sector, with the majority of his career at Procter & Gamble, where he held various positions across the Asia Pacific region. In 2014, he returned to India to lead the India operations of a major consumer products multinational as their CEO.
In addition to his corporate career, Dhar is a prolific writer, having authored over a dozen books, some of which have been bestsellers in India and abroad. His works have been translated into several languages, including Turkish, Vietnamese, Japanese, French, German, and Portuguese. Dhar's writing covers various genres, from thrillers like "The 1st Assassin" and "Sniper's Eye" to the popular "Alice in Deadland" series. He also uses his extensive leadership experience to write books on leadership and mentoring, such as "Leadership in 100 Words" and "Brand New Start."
Dhar's passion for writing and mentoring extends beyond his books. He is a regular contributor to LinkedIn, where his #leadershipin100words posts have garnered over 2 million views. Dhar's commitment to mentoring young employees affected by the COVID Pandemic earned him recognition in India Today's 2022 Annual Issue. Despite his many accomplishments, Dhar remains humble and focused on his family. He considers being the best possible father and husband he can be as his most important job. When he's not working or with his family, Dhar enjoys practicing Karate, where he holds a Black Belt.
