Malcolm Hollingdrake is a renowned author, best known for creating the Harrogate Crime Series of books. Although he was born in Bradford, his experiences living in Ripon further cultivated his love for his home county, which is vividly reflected in his writings.
Hollingdrake's journey to becoming an author was not a straightforward one. Despite being born into a family of avid readers, he initially pursued a career in education, working as a teacher for many years. However, he eventually found that the challenges he faced in education were not sufficient, leading him to seek out new avenues and challenges. As a result, Hollingdrake began writing short stories, and he has since published more than six books.
Despite relocating from England at some point in his life, Hollingdrake has never lost his deep-rooted love for his home country. This affection is evident in his writing, which often features elements of his hometown and surrounding areas. As a successful writer, Hollingdrake has garnered a dedicated following of readers who appreciate his unique storytelling style and his ability to bring the landscapes and characters of Yorkshire to life.
