Margaret Doody

Margaret Anne Doody is an accomplished English academic and author, best known for her work in the historical crime fiction genre. She was born in 1939 and is currently a professor of literature at the University of Notre Dame. Doody played a significant role in the founding of the PhD in Literature Program at Notre Dame, serving as its director from 2001-2007.

Doody is a pioneer in the historical detective story genre, with her "Aristotle" series featuring Aristotle as a 4th Century B.C. detective. The first book in the series, Aristotle Detective, was published in 1978, and since then, she has added four more novels to the series. In addition to the Aristotle series, Doody has also written a novella, Anello di bronzo, which is currently available only in Italian.
