Maria Grace

16-year veteran of the university classroom and bestselling romance author, Maria Grace, adopted the pen name Grace due to the unpronounceability of her real last name. She transitioned into writing as she has a low tolerance for boredom and has been through multiple careers. Grace has a PhD in Educational Psychology and has taught various courses in human growth and development, learning, test development, and counseling. However, these subjects have no relation to her undergraduate studies in economics, sociology, managerial studies, and behavioral sciences.

Grace's career moves have been unconventional and have come through unexpected opportunities. Apart from being a professor, she has also worked as a college administrator and has been involved in hobbies such as earning two martial arts black belts alongside her sons and fencing in college. She has delivered workshops to large groups of people and has organized banquets for more than 250 people. In addition, she has also taken up cake decorating and sewing, even making her own wedding dress.

Grace's foray into writing began in the mid-90s after watching Emma Thompson's Sense and Sensibility film. She was inspired to read more works by Austen and eventually stumbled upon fan fiction forums, which led to her writing her own stories. She is now a six-time BRAG Medallion Honoree and a #1 Best-selling Historical Fantasy author with 29 books under her belt. She writes gaslamp fantasy, historical romance, and non-fiction, and is always asking 'What if...'. Her books are available at all major online booksellers.
