Marie Benedict is a historical fiction author who was born in Pittsburgh. She is best known for her series of interconnected novels that highlight the stories of fascinating and important women in history. Benedict was inspired to become an author after studying at Boston College and acquiring more than a decade of experience in the legal field. She felt called to unearth the stories of women that had been lost in the historical narrative. Benedict's debut novel, "The Other Einstein," was published in 2016 and tells the story of Albert Einstein's first wife, Mileva Marić, who was also a physicist. The novel explores the idea that Marić may have played a significant role in Einstein's theories and discoveries. Benedict followed this with "Carnegie's Maid," a USA Today bestselling title published in 2018, which tells the story of an Irish immigrant woman who made Andrew Carnegie the industrialist into what he was. In addition to these novels, Benedict has also written several historical novels under the pseudonym Heather Terrell.
Some of Benedict's other notable works include "The Chrysalis," "Brigid of Kildare" and "The Map Thief." She has also written historical novels such as "Lady Clementine" and "The Mystery of Mrs. Christie," which tell the stories of Clementine Churchill and Agatha Christie, respectively.
