Mark McKay

Mark McKay is an American author of fiction, known for his action novel series Severance. Before turning to writing, McKay had a diverse range of experiences, working in various fields and careers. He drove a van, sold wine, and even spent some time as a psychiatric orderly. One of his more unusual jobs was dressing up as Santa Claus and greeting children at a major department store during the holiday season. McKay also spent several years in the I.T. industry.

After deciding to pursue writing, McKay studied creative writing with the University of East Anglia in the United Kingdom. His first novel was the result of this course of study, and he has continued to write and publish since then. McKay's writing is informed by his diverse background and the many unique experiences he has had. When he is not writing, McKay enjoys reading, practicing aikido, and learning to play the guitar. He has set a goal for himself to write 50 more novels by the time he turns 100 years old. Despite finding the writing process to be addictive, McKay has not neglected his other interests and hobbies. He continues to seek out new and unusual experiences that may one day find their way into his writing.
