Martin Walker

Martin Walker is a British author who is well-known for his mystery novels and non-fiction books. He is perhaps best known for his Bruno, Chief of Police series, which is set in the Perigord region of rural France. Walker has had a distinguished career in journalism, having worked as Editor-in-Chief Emeritus of United Press International, various posts at The Guardian, a commentator for CNN and a columnist for newspapers in the U.S. and Europe.

In addition to his work as a journalist and author, Walker has also held prominent positions in management and administration. He is the senior director of GBPC (Global Business Policy Council) and A.T Kearney, and has also worked in a magazine firm. Walker was born in 1947 in Scotland, UK and is married to fellow novelist Julia Watson. The couple has two daughters.

Walker's writing is informed by his extensive travels and his career as a foreign correspondent, which has taken him to the USSR, USA, Europe, and Africa. He is a published novelist and poet, and in his Bruno series, he brings to life the rich history and culture of the Perigord region. In addition to his work as a writer, Walker is also an advocate for the region, serving as an honorary Ambassador of the Perigord and helping to promote its wines and cuisine. He is also a chevalier of foie gras, in the confrerie of pate de Perigueux. Through his writing and his advocacy, Walker has become a beloved and respected figure in both the USA and Europe.
