Mary B. Morrison is a successful American author, known for her romance novels that explore social and sexual issues while demonstrating female empowerment. She has written several series, including Soulmates Dissipate and Honey Diaries, and has established herself as a New York Times, Essence, and Wall Street Journal best-selling author. Born in Aurora, Illinois, Morrison grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana, as the middle child of seven children. She attended and graduated from Berkeley Community College in Berkeley, California.\n \nMorrison is not only a prolific writer but also an advocate for literacy and writing education. She is the founder of Healing Her Hurt, Incorporated, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization based in Atlanta, Georgia, which aims to increase literacy and support students pursuing writing as a career. Morrison has also sponsored an anthology publishing 33 students entitled Diverse Stories: From the Imaginations of Sixth Graders.\n \nIn addition to her work as a novelist and literacy advocate, Morrison has expanded her creative endeavors to film and stage productions. She has a multiple book-to-film deal, with her Soulmates Dissipate series being optioned for film by Jeff Clanagan, CEO of Codeblack Entertainment and filmmaker Leslie Small. Morrison is an Executive Producer on her film deal and was also Executive Producer and playwright for her stage play Single Husbands, based on her novel under her pen name HoneyB.
Morrison's personal life has also been marked by success and creativity. She is a proud mother to her wonderful son, Jesse Byrd, Jr., a 2010 graduate of U.C. Santa Barbara and producer on Mary’s film deal. Jesse has recently completed his first novel and owns a clothing business, OiseauChateau.com. Morrison currently resides in Oakland, California, where she continues to write and inspire others through her literary works and advocacy.
