Mary Kay Andrews is the pen name of Kathy Hogan Trocheck, a successful American author born in July 1954. She graduated from the University of Georgia in 1976 with a degree in journalism, and went on to become a reputable journalist working for several papers, including the Atlanta Journal-Constitution for 11 years.
After a 14-year career in journalism, Andrews left her job to pursue a career in fiction writing. Her first novel, 'Every Crooked Nanny', was published in 1992 by HarperCollins. She then wrote ten critically acclaimed mysteries under her real name, Kathy Hogan Trocheck, before assuming the pen name Mary Kay Andrews in 2002 with the publication of 'Savannah Blues'. It was 'Hissy Fit', published in 2006, that became her first New York Times bestseller, followed by many more. Her works have been translated into various languages, including German, Italian, Polish, Slovenian, Hungarian, Dutch, Czech, and Japanese.
Andrews is particularly known for her Southern-themed women's fiction and romance novels, which she writes under the pseudonym Mary Kay Andrews. She has penned over 30 novels, including 'The Homewreckers', 'The Santa Suit', 'The Newcomer', 'Hello, Summer', 'Sunset Beach', 'The High Tide Club', 'The Weekenders', 'Beach Town', 'Save the Date', 'Ladies' Night', 'Christmas Bliss', 'Spring Fever', 'Summer Rental', 'The Fixer Upper', 'Deep Dish', 'Blue Christmas', 'Savannah Breeze', 'Hissy Fit', and 'Little Bitty Lies'. She has also written a cookbook titled 'The Beach House Cookbook'.
In addition to her writing, Andrews is an avid treasure hunter who enjoys junking and fixing up old houses. She and her family split their time between Atlanta and Tybee Island, GA, where they have restored two beach homes named 'The Breeze Inn' and 'Ebbtide'. Both properties are available for rent through Tybee Vacation Rentals and have been featured in her novels. Andrews is also a dedicated grandmother who loves cooking and plotting her next novel in her spare time.
