Mary Stone is a well-known American thriller writer, best recognized for her series including Winter Black, Autumn Trent, Kylie Hatfield, and Ellie Kline. Stone's books are famous for their strong and tough heroines who are never portrayed as damsels in distress. Her characters are courageous and capable, able to hold their own against any male character, whether protagonist or antagonist.
Raised in the Blue Ridge Mountains of East Tennessee, Mary Stone developed a keen interest in the darker side of human nature from a young age. She would often spend her nights trying to uncover what creatures might be lurking underneath her bed, preferring to investigate for herself rather than asking for help. As she grew older, she realized that the most dangerous creatures were human, which sparked her fascination with psychology and the criminal mind. This interest is reflected in her thrilling novels, which delve into the murkier aspects of human nature and keep readers hooked at every turn.
In addition to her thriller series, Mary Stone has also published a collection of poetry titled "Mythology of Touch" in 2012, and her second poetry collection "One Last Cigarette" is forthcoming in 2013. She is also the author of several chapbooks, including "Aching Buttons," "Blink Finch," "The Dopamine Letters," and "Honey and Bandages," which was co-written with Katie Longofono. Mary Stone received her MFA in Poetry from the University of Kansas in 2012. Readers can follow her at marystonepoet.wordpress.com.
