Matt Wesolowski

Matt Wesolowski is a British crime and horror fiction author, hailing from Newcastle Upon Tyne. By day, he works as a tutor of English to young people in care. Wesolowski's foray into fiction writing began with horror novels, and he has since seen several of his short stories published in various American and British anthologies, such as "Cold Iron," "Selfies from the End of the World," and "Midnight Movie Creature." His horror novella, "Black Land," was published in 2013 and is set along the Northumberland coast.

In 2015, Wesolowski's work gained significant recognition when it won the Pitch Perfect Competition at the Bloody Scotland Crime Writing Festival. His debut novel, "Six Stories," was an Amazon bestselling title in the US, Australia, the UK, and Canada, and was also a WHSmith Fresh Talent pick. The novel was later optioned by a major motion picture studio in Hollywood. The prequel to his debut, "Hydra," was published in 2018 to widespread acclaim and became a bestseller around the world. Wesolowski's novel "Changeling," published in 2019, was shortlisted for Theakston’s Old Peculiar Crime Novel of the year, and won Best Independent Voice and Best Thriller in the Amazon Publishing Reader Awards.

Wesolowski's novels "Six Stories," "Hydra," "Changeling," "Beast," and "Deity" were published by Orenda Books in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020, respectively. "Six Stories" has been optioned by a major Hollywood studio, and "Changeling" was longlisted for the Theakston Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year, 2019 Amazon Publishing Readers’ Award for Best Thriller and Best Independent Voice. "Beast" won the Amazon Publishing Readers' Award for Best Independent Voice in 2020. Wesolowski is represented by Sandra Sawicka at Marjacq Film/TV Rights and Luke Speed at Curtis Brown.
