Meg Mason

Meg Mason is a contemporary author, known for her works in the comedy, humor, and literary fiction genres. She was born in New Zealand and moved to Australia at the age of sixteen when her parents, who worked in agriculture and education, relocated the family. Mason pursued higher education at the University of Sydney, where she studied History and English. After moving to the UK with her husband in 2000, she began her career as a journalist for The Times of London and the Financial Times.

Mason's work has been featured in several prominent publications, including The Sunday Telegraph, The Sydney Morning Herald, and The Sunday Times UK. She has also written humor for The New Yorker’s Daily Shouts and Sunday Style magazine. In addition to her work as a journalist, Mason has been a regular columnist for Vogue, GQ, Marie Claire, and ELLE. She made her fiction writing debut with the publishing of her novel “You Be Mother” in 2017.

Mason's first book, "Say It Again in a Nice Voice," a memoir of early motherhood, was published in 2012. She followed this with the publication of her novel “You Be Mother” in 2017. Her most recent novel, "Sorrow and Bliss," was first released in Australia in 2020 and published in the US in February 2021 and out in the UK in June 2021. The studio, New Regency, is adapting "Sorrow and Bliss" for screen. Mason currently resides in Sydney.
