She has a deep affection for cats, having shared her childhood home with various felines and continuing to live with several now. Crewe's interest in supernatural stories may be partially influenced by her belief in the possibility of ghosts. In addition to her writing, she has worked as a private tutor for children with special needs and has completed a degree in psychology at York University.
