Megan Lindholm is an American author best known for her speculative fiction, including urban fantasy and science fiction. Writing under her own name, she has garnered critical acclaim, with her novel "Wizard of the Pigeons" being a Nebula Award finalist. Her short stories, such as "A Touch of Lavender" (a Hugo and Nebula finalist) and "Silver Lady and the Fortyish Man" (a Nebula finalist), have also earned recognition, including the Asimov's Reader Award. Her work frequently explores themes of magic, resilience, and the intersection of the mundane and the supernatural.
Lindholm also writes under the pseudonym Robin Hobb, though the two authorial voices remain distinct. While much of her recent book-length work appears as Hobb, she continues to publish short fiction as Lindholm in prominent magazines like Asimov's Science Fiction and The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction. Her 1980s urban fantasy "Wizard of the Pigeons," set in Seattle, has been reissued by Grim Oak Press. Based in Tacoma, Washington, Lindholm maintains an active writing career, balancing both her literary identities.
