Melissa Bourbon

Melissa Bourbon is an American author, known for her mystery and suspense novels. She has written several series, including the Book Magic Mysteries, Lola Cruz Mysteries, and Magical Dressmaking series, as well as the Bread Shop Mysteries under the name Winnie Archer. Bourbon has been very successful in her writing career, having published over forty novels and nonfiction writing resource books.

Bourbon was born in California to a Silicon Valley executive father and a talented watercolor artist mother. She is the only daughter in her family and has a special bond with her parents and brothers. When she was in the sixth grade, her family moved to Northern California, which became an important place for her as she went on to attend college, start a family, and establish her writing career there. In 2008, she moved to Texas with her husband, but later relocated to North Carolina, where she currently resides with her husband and three dogs.

Bourbon is passionate about writing strong female characters and exploring family relationships in her novels. She is also dedicated to helping aspiring writers hone their craft and has founded WriterSpark Academy, an online school for writers. Bourbon's books have been well-received by readers and critics alike, with many praising her engaging storytelling and well-developed characters. She continues to write and teach, inspiring and mentoring new writers along the way.
