Michael Arnold

Michael Arnold is a British author who has made a name for himself in the world of historical fiction. Born and raised in Hampshire, Arnold developed an early interest in British history, which was fueled by his childhood holidays spent visiting castles and battlefields. His fascination with the Civil War era was further piqued by the fact that his hometown and region are steeped in Civil War history.

Arnold is perhaps best known for his Civil War Chronicles series and the Highwayman's series. The Civil War Chronicles follow the story of Captain Stryker and the events of the English Civil Wars, making Arnold the first historical series novelist of his time to use this backdrop. The Highwayman's series, on the other hand, takes place during the period when England was a republic. In May 2019, Arnold embarked on a brand new historical crime series, set in London just after the Regency period.

Arnold currently resides in Hampshire with his wife and children. He is a self-proclaimed "Sharpe junkie" and has had a lifelong interest in British history.
