Michael Dante DiMartino

Michael Dante DiMartino is a highly accomplished children's fantasy writer and animator, best known as the co-creator of the popular Nickelodeon series "Avatar: The Last Airbender" and its sequel, "The Legend of Korra". DiMartino's passion for animation and storytelling began during his time at the Rhode Island School of Design, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Film and Animation.

Prior to creating "Avatar," DiMartino worked as a director on several other animated series, including "King of the Hill," "Family Guy," and "Mission Hill". He also wrote, animated, and directed the short film "Atomic Love," which was screened at the Sundance and Los Angeles Film Festivals in 2003. In addition to his work in animation, DiMartino is also an accomplished filmmaker and enjoys directing and working in film.
