Michael Grant

Michael Grant is a successful American author of young adult novels. He is best known for his work on the Gone series, a set of dystopian adventure novels that have captivated readers around the world. In addition to his solo work, Grant has also frequently collaborated with his wife, Katherine Applegate, on a variety of young adult series.

Grant was born in California in 1954 and spent his childhood moving around due to his family's military background. This nomadic lifestyle caused him to attend multiple schools in various states and countries, including ten different schools in five American states and several schools in Europe. Despite the constant upheaval, these early experiences provided Grant with a wealth of material to draw upon in his future writing.

Before becoming a novelist, Grant worked a variety of odd jobs, including stints as a busboy and a documentary producer. He has written over 150 books, many of which were co-authored with his wife. In addition to the Gone series, Grant is also known for his work on the Animorphs, Everworld, Remnants, and Eve and Adam series. He has also written under the pseudonyms Michael Robinson and Michael Reynolds.

Grant currently resides in Tiburon, California with his wife, their two children, and a menagerie of animals. Despite his prolific writing career, he remains a private and humble individual, preferring to let his work speak for itself.
