Michael Matson is a fiction author who has collaborated with his wife, Alesia Matson, on The Raven & The Iris series. The series includes two novels, Raven's Tears and Dead Man's Trigger. Apart from his work with his wife, Michael has also written several solo works, including The Dancing Boy, a Treat Mikkelson mystery, which was released by Oak Tree Press in April 2014.
Michael's interest in writing began at a young age. At the age of 12, he wrote his first book, a 24-page masterpiece that was a best-seller in his family. Since then, he has had a diverse career, including being an airman, commercial fisherman, lobbyist, truck driver, counselor and minister, and general contractor. However, writing has always remained an essential creative outlet and a cornerstone of his marriage to his wife, who is also a writer. Having retired from his construction firm, he now writes and publishes full-time from his home in Northern California.
In addition to his work with his wife and the Treat Mikkelson mystery series, Michael is also the author of The Diamond Tree, Takeshi's Choice, Emily and the Elixir of Happiness, Bareback Rider, and several humor articles published in Cynic Magazine and various short stories. He is a graduate of the University of Washington School of Journalism and has worked as an ad agency copywriter, creative director, film and video writer and producer. Currently, he is living and writing in Mexico. The Diamond Tree is also available as an ebook at untreedreads.com.
