Michael McBride is a prolific American author, born in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He is best known for his work in horror, science fiction, and thriller genres, having written popular series like Unit 51 and God’s End, as well as standalone books such as Subterrestrial and Burial Ground. His ability to create engaging stories across various genres has garnered him a dedicated readership.
McBride has spent his entire life in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains, specifically in Westminster, Colorado. Interestingly, despite the region’s heavy snowfall, he expresses a dislike for snow. This has not stopped him from being a dedicated sports fan, particularly of the Colorado Avalanche. When he’s not writing, McBride works with medical radiation, a career that has not deterred him from having a large family – he is a proud father of five children, all of whom, miraculously, do not have any radiation-induced mutations.
McBride’s passion for storytelling is fueled by his early interests in science and history, sparked by his engineer father and teacher mother. After a career in medical imaging as an x-ray, CT, and MRI technologist, McBride has since achieved his lifelong dream of becoming a full-time author. He now resides in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire with his wife, children, and a few energetic Labrador Retrievers. Despite the change in location, he continues to write fiction that captivates readers, maintaining his reputation as a versatile and engaging author.
