Michael Robotham is an accomplished Australian novelist, renowned for his crime fiction and mystery writings. He was born in 1960 and spent his formative years in various small country towns. Robotham's career in writing began as an investigative journalist, where he worked in several countries including Australia, Britain, America, and Africa.
After his journalism career, Robotham transitioned into ghostwriting, collaborating with a diverse range of subjects such as politicians, pop stars, psychologists, and adventurers. His ghostwritten autobiographies have been successful, with twelve of them becoming Sunday Times bestsellers. His first novel, 'THE SUSPECT', was published in 2004 and was an international success, leading to the translation of his subsequent works into twenty-five languages.
Robotham's psychological thrillers have received significant critical acclaim. He has won the prestigious Crime Writers Association Gold Dagger twice, for 'GOOD GIRL BAD GIRL' in 2020 and 'LIFE OR DEATH' in 2015. He has also been a finalist for the Edgar Award for best crime fiction novel in the US twice. In 2021, he won the CWA Ian Fleming Steel Dagger for 'WHEN SHE WAS GOOD'. His Joe O'Loughlin series is currently in development for TV by World Productions. A six-part TV series based on his standalone novel 'THE SECRETS SHE KEEPS' aired on BBC1 in 2020. Robotham currently resides in Sydney with his wife and their daughters.
