Michelle McNamara

Michelle Eileen McNamara was born on April 14, 1970, and is known for her work as a true crime writer. She was raised in Oak Park, Illinois, in a traditional Irish Catholic family. Her father, Thomas W. McNamara, was a trial lawyer, and her mother, Rita McNamara (née Rigney), was a stay-at-home mom. Michelle was the youngest of six children, with five older sisters and a brother.

Michelle McNamara's writing career extended beyond true crime. She was also a screenwriter and journalist. In addition to her professional work, she founded the blog "True Crime Diary," which focused on lesser-known crimes and cold cases. The blog gained a following for its in-depth analysis and thorough research.

In 2005, Michelle married comedian Patton Oswalt, and they had one daughter together in 2009. The couple was known for their supportive relationship and collaboration on various projects.
