Mike Carey

Mike Carey is a highly regarded author, known for his work in horror, fantasy, and thriller genres, as well as for his contributions to comic books and screenplays. Carey was born in Liverpool, England in 1959 and developed an early interest in comic books. He would create and illustrate his own stories for his younger brother. Carey studied English at St. Peter's College, Oxford, and later became a teacher, a career he pursued for fifteen years before transitioning to writing full-time.

Carey's writing career began in the comic book industry, where he quickly gained recognition for his work on titles such as Lucifer, Hellblazer, The Sandman, Batman, Elektra, Fantastic Four, X-Men, Thor, and many more. His horror/fantasy series, Lucifer, received numerous international awards and nominations for five Eisners. Carey's success in the comic book industry led him to expand his writing into novels and screenplays, while still maintaining a presence in the comics world.

Carey is the author of the Felix Castor series and has written several books, including X-men, Crossing Midnight, Lucifer, X-men: Legacy, Hellblazer, and the unwritten. He is also an accomplished screenwriter, with his original screenplay Frost Flowers currently in production with Hadaly/Bluestar Pictures. Carey is married to Linda, who is also a writer, and they have three children and an implausibly gorgeous cat. He currently resides in North London, England, where he continues to write and create captivating stories for his readers.
