Mike Mullin

Mike Mullin is a successful author, but his journey to this career was filled with unusual and sometimes unpleasant jobs. His very first job was scraping gum off the undersides of desks at his high school. From there, he moved on to work at a bookstore, where he almost got fired due to his poor taste in earrings. He also worked at a place that showed slides of poopy diapers during lunch and another where he had to eat live termites as part of the hazing process. Mullin's other jobs included juggling bottles at a wine shop and dealing with swarms of wasps while working on ladders. It's safe to say that he's relieved that his writing career is now taking off.

Despite the challenges he faced in his previous jobs, Mullin has always been an active and athletic person. He holds a black belt in Songahm Taekwondo, which shows his dedication and discipline. He currently lives in Indianapolis with his wife and her three cats. Mullin's debut novel, "ASHFALL," was a huge success. It was named one of the top five young adult novels of 2011 by National Public Radio, a Best Teen Book of 2011 by Kirkus Reviews, and a New Voices selection by the American Booksellers Association.
