Mike Shepherd

Mike Shepherd is a pseudonym of the American novelist Mike Moscoe, who is best known for his science fiction novels. He writes under the name Mike Shepherd for his popular series, Jump Universe, Kris Longknife, and others. Mike was born in the Philadelphia Navy Yard Hospital, but his family moved around a lot due to his father's Navy career. He grew up in various parts of the country and even lived abroad. Mike's personal war stories may be limited to his experiences of flunking boot camp, but that has not hindered his ability to write compelling military science fiction.

Mike enjoys reading, writing, watching his grandchildren for story ideas, and upgrading his computer. He currently resides in Vancouver, Washington, with his wife Ellen, his mother-in-law, and any visiting grandkids. Mike has requested that his book listings be removed from certain websites, as he believes they are in violation of copyright laws.

Mike's love for Science Fiction began when he was in the fifth grade and read "Rocket Ship Galileo." He then proceeded to read every book in the library with a rocket sticker on its spine. Mike's writing is inspired by his interest in history and his fascination with the transformations that shape the world. He has a knack for balancing ancient human experiences with the ever-changing universe of science.

Mike has published over 27 books in several series and story arcs set in the 23rd century. His popular Kris Longknife family saga includes the story arc of Kris Longknife - Emissary, Admiral, and Commanding, among others. He has also written the Rita Longknife Enemy Unknown series and Kris Longknife's Replacement, among others. Mike's stories combine action, humor, and hints of romance with rip-roaring, page-turning adventure. His books are enjoyed by tens of thousands of readers worldwide.
