Mindy Kaling is a highly accomplished American comedian, actress, and author. She was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts and is known for her unique brand of humor. Before gaining recognition as an Emmy-winning writer, Kaling was a fan favorite on the popular television show "The Office," where she played the character Kelly Kapoor. In addition to her acting roles, Kaling also served as a director, producer, and writer on the show.
Kaling is also the author of two popular memoirs, "Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me (And Other Concerns)" and "Why Not Me?" Both of these books were New York Times bestsellers. Prior to her success as an author, Kaling wrote a comic strip called "Badly Drawn Girl" that satirized campus life and was published in The Dartmouth magazine.
In addition to her work on "The Office" and her writing, Kaling has also lent her voice to various projects. She voiced the character Disgust in the Pixar film "Inside Out," which won an Oscar.
