Mira Grant is a successful American author who is best known for her horror and science fiction novels. She is actually the pseudonym of Seanan McGuire, who is also a well-known author in her own right. As Mira Grant, she has made a significant contribution to the world of horror and science fiction literature.
Grant was born in Martinez, California, and grew up with a fascination for horror movies and horrible viruses. Her interest in the living dead and their inevitable threats to human beings led her to study virology in college. In fact, she was so passionate about horror that her college peers voted her as the most likely person to summon something horrible in the cornfield. Grant was also a founding member of the Horror Movie Sleep Away Survival Camp, where she survived the Swamp Cannibals scenario for the longest time.
As a full-time writer, Grant's writing career has been nothing short of impressive. She won the John W Campbell Award in 2010 for Best New Writer, and one of her novels was nominated for the Hugo Award in 2013 for Best Novel. In fact, that same year, she was nominated for a total of five Hugo Awards, two for her works under the Mira Grant pseudonym and three under her real name, Seanan McGuire. Grant's love for horror and science fiction is evident in her writing, and her ability to create compelling stories has earned her a loyal following of readers.
Grant currently resides in California and spends her time traveling, auditing college virology courses, and watching horror movies. She sleeps with a machete under her bed and encourages others to do the same, emphasizing the importance of being prepared for any situation. With her unique writing style and intriguing storytelling, Mira Grant has established herself as a prominent voice in the world of horror and science fiction literature.
