Morgan Harper Nichols is a highly accomplished musician, artist, and poet. She was born on February 4, 1990, in Los Angeles, California, and grew up as the daughter of Bishop James Henry Harper, a preacher, and Pastor Mona Nanette Harper.
Nichols began her career as a college admission counselor, but it was her time on the road as a full-time touring singer-songwriter and musician that sparked her curiosity and passion for the written word and art. She started sharing her art with others online, which eventually led to the creation of her project in 2017. Through this project, Nichols invites people to submit their stories to her website, which she then uses as inspiration to create art, which she sends back to them for free. Nearly everything Nichols creates and shares today is a result of this project, and she always keeps the names and stories anonymous.
Nichols' work has gained immense popularity, and she has built a loyal online community through her Instagram feed (@morganharpernichols). She is the author of "All Along You Were Blooming," a book of poems and art created in response to the personal stories submitted by her friends and followers. Known for its lyrical tone and vibrant imagery, Nichols' work is an organic expression of the grace and hope we've been given in this world. She has also performed as a vocalist on several GRAMMY-nominated projects and written for various artists, including a Billboard #1 single performed by her sister, Jamie-Grace.
Nichols is often on the road, creating, teaching, and performing, in hopes of spreading her unique inspirational message and inviting others into her creative process. She currently resides in Phoenix, Arizona, with her family.
