Patricia Falvey

Patricia Falvey is a historical romance author, born and raised in County Down, Northern Ireland. Her family later relocated to England, and Falvey immigrated to the U.S. alone when she was twenty. She currently resides in Texas, although she often retreats to her home in Northern Ireland. Falvey's debut novel, "The Yellow House," is set in Northern Ireland and draws inspiration from the stories her grandmother told her about life in Ulster and the events of the early 20th Century.

Falvey is the author of several critically acclaimed historical novels, including "The Yellow House," "The Linen Queen," and "The Girls of Ennismore," all set in Northern Ireland. Her third novel, "The Girls of Ennismore," takes place in the west of Ireland and focuses on the Easter Uprising of 1916. Her most recent novel, "The Titanic Sisters," features two sisters from Donegal who make their way to America on the ill-fated Titanic.

Before becoming a published author, Falvey forged a long and successful career in the financial services industry, rising to a Managing Director for a major consulting firm where she oversaw a national tax practice. However, she never lost sight of her dream of becoming a published author and in 2008 walked away from her old career to give her dream a chance. In 2010, her courage was rewarded with the publication of "The Yellow House." Falvey views this phase of her life as her “Second Act” and encourages anyone with a dream to pursue it, no matter their age.

In her free time, Falvey enjoys traveling around the scenic backroads of Ireland doing research and visiting friends and family. She also enjoys spending time with good friends in Texas, teaching and mentoring fledgling writers, speaking to book clubs, watching PBS British television programs, and attending the theater.
