Patricia Gibney is an accomplished Irish author, best known for her series of crime thriller novels featuring Detective Lottie Parker. Born and raised in Mullingar, County Westmeath, Gibney is deeply connected to her Irish roots and finds inspiration in the often harsh weather patterns and beautiful landscapes of her homeland.
Gibney's journey to becoming a successful author began as a form of therapy following the death of her husband, Aidan, in 2009. In the aftermath of this life-changing experience, she found solace in writing and rekindled her love of art. Initially, she wrote and illustrated a children's book, but her true ambition was to write a novel. After joining The Irish Writers Centre and working on her craft, she secured an agent and began writing in the crime genre, which she found to be both challenging and rewarding.
In 2016, Gibney signed with Bookouture for four novels in the DI Lottie Parker series. The first book in the series, "The Missing Ones," was an instant success, reaching the number 2 spot in the Amazon UK Kindle charts and number 6 in the US. It also achieved the number 1 spot in all its categories and became a bestseller in the UK, US, Canada, and Australia. The second book in the series, "The Stolen Girls," was published in July 2017, and the third book, "The Lost Child," followed in October of the same year. Gibney's ability to create complex and engaging characters, combined with her knack for tightly plotted stories, has made the Lottie Parker series a hit with readers around the world.
