Patrick Desbois is a French Roman Catholic priest and historian renowned for his work documenting Holocaust atrocities. As the founder of Yahad-In Unum, he has dedicated his career to identifying mass grave sites of Jewish victims killed by Nazi mobile-killing units in the former Soviet Union. His efforts have been instrumental in preserving the memory of Holocaust victims and uncovering previously undocumented massacres.
A consultant to the Vatican and former head of the Commission for Relations with Judaism of the French Bishops' Conference, Desbois combines historical research with humanitarian advocacy. His meticulous fieldwork has brought international attention to lesser-known aspects of the Holocaust, particularly the systematic executions carried out by Einsatzgruppen. In recognition of his contributions, he was awarded the Légion d'honneur, France's highest honor. Desbois continues to educate global audiences on the importance of remembrance and justice.
