Paul Di Filippo is an accomplished American author, renowned for his works of fiction. He has written hundreds of short stories, many of which have been gathered in various collections such as "The Steampunk Trilogy," "Ribofunk," "Fractal Paisleys," "Lost Pages," "Little Doors," "Strange Trades," "Babylon Sisters," and the award-nominated novella, "A Year in the Linear City." Di Filippo's fiction is highly regarded and has earned him nominations for several prestigious awards, including the Hugo, Nebula, BSFA, Philip K. Dick, Wired Magazine, and World Fantasy awards.
In addition to his short stories, Di Filippo has also written a number of mind-bending novels that are not easily categorized. These works include "Ciphers," "Joe's Liver," "Fuzzy Dice," "A Mouthful of Tongues," and "Spondulix." His writing is known for its unique voice, which is characterized by an offbeat sensibility, soulful characterizations, compact prose, and humorous dialogue. Di Filippo has a knack for creating stories that are both compelling and addictive, making him a popular and well-respected figure in the world of speculative fiction.
Despite his success, Di Filippo is not one to rush his work. He has stated that a sequel to "A Year in the Linear City," titled "A Princess of the Linear Jungle," will be written in 2008, but he is known for taking his time to ensure that his work is of the highest quality. In addition to his fiction, Di Filippo has also written non-fiction, including reviews and articles for a variety of publications. He currently resides in Providence, Rhode Island.
