Paul Fraser Collard is a highly regarded British author, renowned for his historical and military fiction stories. His passion for history, particularly military history, developed during his childhood in the 1970s. As a child, he was heavily influenced by Warlord and Commando comics, as well as war movies such as The Longest Day, Bridge Too Far, and Zulu. These early influences sparked a fascination with military history and a desire to recreate the battles he saw on screen.
Collard's love for military history continued to grow, and he was determined to become an officer in the British army. He succeeded in winning an Army Scholarship but ultimately chose to pursue a career in the finance industry instead. Despite his change in career path, Collard's passion for military history never waned. He was particularly inspired by the works of Bernard Cornwell, which brought him great joy.
Collard's fascination with military history led him to write his own series of novels, featuring the adventures of a roguish, brutally courageous, and ambitious imposter from the Victorian times named Jack Lark. The Jack Lark series has been well-received, with critics praising Collard's ability to bring history to life in a vivid and engaging way. After developing the Jack Lark series, Collard has now moved on to a new and exciting project that starts a new series set against the backdrop of World War 2. He continues to live in Kent with his wife and three children, where he works in the City.
