Paul Lisicky, born on July 9, 1959, in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, is a well-established author with a number of highly regarded works to his name. He earned his undergraduate degree from Rutgers University-New Brunswick and went on to receive both an MA and an MFA from Rutgers University-Camden and the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, respectively.
Lisicky has made a significant contribution to the literary world with a variety of works, including "The Narrow Door," "Unbuilt Projects," "The Burning House," "Famous Builder," and "Lawnboy." His writing has been featured in numerous publications, such as The Atlantic, BuzzFeed, Conjunctions, Fence, The Iowa Review, The Offing, Ploughshares, and Tin House. His writing has also been included in many anthologies and magazines, demonstrating the breadth of his appeal and the impact of his work.
As a graduate of the prestigious Iowa Writers’ Workshop, Lisicky has been the recipient of numerous fellowships and awards in recognition of his talent and dedication to his craft. These include fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, the James Michener/Copernicus Society, the Henfield Foundation, the Corporation of Yaddo, and the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, where he was twice a fellow.
Lisicky has also shared his knowledge and experience with others through teaching positions at a number of esteemed institutions, including Cornell University, New York University, Rutgers University-Newark, and Sarah Lawrence College. He is currently an Associate Professor in the MFA Program at Rutgers University-Camden. Despite his many accomplishments, Lisicky remains a humble and dedicated member of the literary community, continuing to produce high-quality work and inspire the next generation of writers. His sixth book, "Later: My Life at the Edge of the World," is set to be released by Graywolf Press in March 2020.
