Paul Stewart

Paul Stewart is a highly respected author, best known for his work in children's literature. He was born in 1955 in London, England, and spent his childhood in Muswell Hill, North London, and Morden, South London. After completing his schooling in Morden, Stewart's love for adventure led him to Greece, where he lived for several months and took on various jobs, such as whitewashing hotels and picking grapes and oranges.

Stewart's writing career is prolific and varied, encompassing a wide range of genres, including children's books, science fiction, fantasy, and young adult novels. He is particularly famous for co-creating The Edge Chronicles series with the acclaimed illustrator Chris Ridell. This series has been a tremendous success, selling over three million copies and being translated into over twenty languages. In addition to The Edge Chronicles, Stewart has also collaborated with Ridell on other projects, such as the Far Flung Adventures series, the Football Mad series, the Blobheads series, the Muddle Earth series, the Barnaby Grimes series, the Scavenger series, and the Free Lance books.

Stewart is also a successful solo author, having written several picture books for younger readers, including the Rabbit and Hedgehog series, In the Dark of the Night, and Wings. His work has been widely recognized and honored, with accolades such as the Gold Smarties Prize for Fergus Crane and Silver Nestle Prize wins for Corby Flood and Hugo Pepper. Stewart currently resides in Brighton with his wife and children.
