Paul Yoon

Paul Yoon is a highly regarded author, best known for his fiction novels. Born in New York City, Yoon has established himself as a formidable talent in the literary world. His debut book, "Once the Shore," was published in 2009 and quickly gained critical acclaim. It was marked as a Notable Book by the New York Times and was also recognized as a Best Debut of the Year by National Public Radio.

Yoon's success continued with the release of his novel, "Snow Hunters" in 2013. This book went on to win the 2014 Young Lions Fiction Award, further solidifying Yoon's reputation as an accomplished writer. In 2017, he released another collection of stories titled "The Mountain," which was named an NPR Best Book of the Year. His most recent work, "Run Me to Earth," was published in 2020 and was included in Time magazine's list of Must-Read Books of the Year. It was also longlisted for the Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Fiction.

In addition to his writing accolades, Yoon has received several prestigious fellowships. He was awarded a 5 under 35 Award from the National Book Foundation and a fellowship from the New York Public Library’s Cullman Center for Scholars and Writers. Currently, Yoon is a Briggs-Copeland Lecturer at Harvard University, where he teaches alongside his wife, the fiction writer Laura van den Berg.
