Paula Munier is a successful author, editor, literary agent, and teacher, who has made a name for herself in the world of crime fiction. She is the author of the Mercy Carr Mystery series, as well as several non-fiction books, including "The Writer's Guide to Beginnings," "Plot Perfect," and "Writing with Quiet Hands."
Munier spent her childhood moving around with her family, living in different places such as Georgia, Oklahoma, Ohio, and Germany. It was during this time that she discovered her love for reading, thanks to her mother who used it to entertain herself and cope with loneliness. Despite her father's wishes for her to become a pilot, Munier's high school teacher encouraged her to pursue writing, and she eventually heeded this advice.
Aside from her Mercy Carr series, Munier has also written several popular books on writing and a memoir. Her first novel, "A Borrowing of Bones," was inspired by the hero working dogs she met through Mission K9 Rescue, her own Newfoundland-retriever-mix rescue dog Bear, and her lifelong passion for crime fiction. The book was nominated for the Mary Higgins Clark Award and was named the Dogwise Book of the Year. In her role as a literary agent, Munier represents many great writers and specializes in crime fiction, women's fiction, upmarket fiction, MG/YA, high-concept SFF, and nonfiction. She currently lives in New England with her family, her three rescue dogs, and a rescue torbie tabby named Ursula.
