Percy Keese Fitzhugh was an American author best known for his Boy Scouting-themed adventure series set in the fictional town of Bridgeboro, New Jersey. His most popular works featured beloved characters such as Tom Slade, Pee-wee Harris, Roy Blakely, and Westy Martin, whose adventures captivated both young readers and adults. Fitzhugh's storytelling resonated so deeply that fans often addressed letters to the characters themselves, mistaking them for real individuals. His early career began with "The Goldenrod Story Book" in 1906, but he gained widespread recognition through his Scout-centric novels.

In addition to his Scouting series, Fitzhugh ventured into mystery writing under the pseudonym Hugh Lloyd during the 1930s. He authored the Hal Keen Mystery Series, comprising ten titles, followed by the Skippy Dare series, which included three books. While these mystery series demonstrated his versatility, they never achieved the same level of popularity as his Scout-themed works.
