Peter Abrahams

Peter Abrahams is an accomplished American author, well-known for his crime fiction and suspense novels. He writes under his own name as well as the pen name Spencer Quinn. Abrahams has received high praise from renowned author Stephen King, who has labeled him as his "favorite American suspense novelist".

Abrahams was born on June 28, 1947, and his journey into writing began in his preschool years when his teacher shared a story he had written about a make-believe walk on a rainy day with his classmates. His mother, who recognized his writing talent, encouraged him to become a writer. This early start in writing has resulted in a prolific career with numerous novels and awards to his name.

Abrahams is the author of several novels, including "End of Story," "Oblivion," and "Lights Out," which was nominated for an Edgar best novel award. He is also the writer behind the popular Echo Falls series for younger readers. In addition to writing under his own name, Abrahams has also adopted the pseudonym Spencer Quinn, under which he writes the best-selling Chet and Bernie series. These books are unique in that they are narrated by a dog named Chet, and they have been praised for their "pure comic genius".
