Phoebe Sinclair is a writer known for her lyrical contemporary fiction featuring young people of color. She holds a BFA in Writing, Literature and Publishing from Emerson College and has been recognized with a PEN New England Children’s Book Caucus Susan P. Bloom Discovery Award. Her middle grade novel debuted with Candlewick Press in 2023. Sinclair also co-founded the independent publishing collective Table for 7 Press alongside her long-standing writer’s critique group.
Originally from the Jersey Shore, Sinclair relocated to Boston in 1996 and has since become deeply rooted in the city’s creative community. Her work often explores themes of identity and belonging, reflecting her background in community-focused nonprofits. Beyond writing, she is an avid bike commuter and enjoys Marvel fan fiction. Sinclair resides in Boston’s Jamaica Plain neighborhood with her partner and a collection of plants.
